TESTING MAKIN'S CLAY
Mixing Makin's Clay With Different Types Of
Polymer Clay And The Water Test
12th July 2007, adding metallic powder into Makin's clay.
12th July 2007, it mixed well with the powder.
12th July 2007, create pattern on the clay with texture sheet, oven
bake to dry the clay.
12th July 2007, mixing about 50% of Makin's clay and 50%
Fimo polymer clay
12th July 2007, mixed well and baked in the oven at 130º C for 20 min.
12th July 2007, mixing of 50% Makin's clay and 50% Sculpey
Ultralight clay baked in the oven at 130º C for 20 min.
12th July 2007, mixing about 50% Makin's clay and 50% Sculpey
Premo
12th July 2007, it mixed well and flatten it with a pasta machine
12th July 2007, Makin's and Premo clay creations is baked in the oven
at 130º C for 20 min.

12th July 2007, Baked mixture shows flexibility.
12th July 2007, Soaking the cured and baked clay in the water,
time: 2.30 pm, mixture with Ultralight clay floats. Initially Makin's
mixture floats, eventually the mixture sank to the bottom.
14th July 2007, Mixing about 50% Makin's clay and 50% Sculpey
3 polymer clay.
14th July 2007, Mixed clay
14th July 2007, The mixed clay creation is baked in the oven
at 130º C for 20 min.
14th July 2007, After baking the clay is slightly inflated.
14th July 2007, Meanwhile, the soaked Makin's clay mixed with metallic
powder is deteriorated after 48 hours in the water.
14th July 2007, As for the rest of MC/ PC mixtures they are still in good
condition, time: 2.30 pm.
17th July 2007, Soaking it further, time: 10.56 pm
17th July 2007, Condition of Makin's / Ultralight mixture in water
17th July 2007, Condition of Makin's /Sculpey 3 mixture in water
17th July 2007, Condition of Makin's mixture with metallic powder.
17th July 2007, Condition of the Fimo/Makin's mixture in water
17th July 2007, Condition of the Premo/Makin's mixture in water
1th August 2007, time; 6.53 pm
1th August 2007, condition of the Makin's/metallic powder mixture in water
1th August 2007, condition of the Makin's/Ultralight mixture in water
1th August 2007,condition of the Makin's/Fimo mixture in water
1th August 2007, condition of the Makin's/Sculpey 3 mixture in water
1th August 2007, condition of the Makin's/Premo mixture in water
2nd August 2007, Slicing Makin's/Ultralight Mixture
2nd August 2007, After slicing Makin's/Ultralight Mixture, it looks
spongy inside
2nd August 2007, Slicing Makin's/Premo Mixture, it looks more
compact inside
2nd August 2007, Slicing Makin's/Fimo Mixture, it looks more
compact inside
The above tests by mixing Makin's clay with the various types of polymer clay,
resulted in the fusion of a new clay mixture that can be baked in the oven at 130º C.
Subsequent aqua test shows that all the mixtures were able to retain its shape even
after prolong immersion in the water, with the exception of the Makin's mixture with
metallic powder. Since, Makin's clay is only just an air dry clay, soaking the clay
directly in water will cause the clay to deteriorate and wash away in the water.
